February – Love your Hips (Mobility) Month

February-national-fitness-holida-love-your-hipsNot only are the hips the love shakers of the body, they are also a great source of power in human movement. Sadly, for many Americans – especially “desk jockeys” and others who must sit for a good portion of their day – the hips begin to tighten and close off, diminishing their function and promoting poor posture which can lead to other, painful issues. This month, give your hips some love and loosen them up – spend twenty minutes per day incorporating some hip stretching into your routine. Try setting an alarm at work for every 90 minutes so you can get up and stretch for five minutes at your desk, or wherever you might be.
