September – Remember your Thoracic September

september-national-fitness-holiday-remember-your-thoracicPicture your typical office dweller – slumped over a computer, slouching with a hunched upper back and rounded shoulders – glued in a crappy position for hours on end. Now take that person -with their turtle shell back – and ask them to raise their arms overhead. They probably can’t without straining or loading their lumbar spine and/or internally rotating their shoulders. As you can see, all of these are major problems that could lead to a devastating injury. Spend extra time this month making sure your upper back is mobile so other parts of your body don’t take the brunt.
